The Trust makes its move ...

The Trust has to date taken a view of working closely with the ownership regime, however following Katrien Meire telling the fans that they just have to accept Rolands way and now an unwillingness to engage further on the plans for the clubs future, the Trust has decided to get stuck in and roll its sleeves up, here is its statement.

"Further to our statement of 14th January 2015, the Charlton Athletic Supporters' Trust wrote to the club's CEO Katrien Meire to follow up our offer to discuss the growing anxiety of supporters about the direction of the club, and how they might be better involved.
We have received a disappointing response. Whilst Ms Meire has suggested that we meet with a colleague to discuss what the club needs to do to maintain and grow the fanbase, she declined any dialogue on the vital matter of where the club is heading.
Her explanation - that she had nothing more to tell supporters regarding the direction of the club - reminds us of her words " To read on Click here

Waste of time, I hope they ignore this lot. The board saved the club from administration and deserve a huge amount of gratitude for all their efforts.

Hope you enjoy League One and are grateful for that next season.

Yes will do, and unlike the embittered types on here who are anti board and anti club, I'll be still be following in League 1 and beyond.

Isn't anti board = anti club a bit of a leap of faith, I'm not so sure it means the same thing at all. There is no board, no proper manager, no directors. We can't afford them, that's the problem, there's simply Roland the electrician. Hope he knows where the lights are.

Administration didn't do Southampton any harm.

Personally, I think that we should just keep the faith here, and support our Board, Players, the Team and our New Manager, at this critical time of the season. (That is, we who are the silent majority)!
Unfortunately, the ‘glass half empty’ brigade always makes the most noise here, as usual, with the endless stream of negativity, and endless doom & gloom!
United we stand, divided we fall!
The new manager is undefeated so far. We were unlucky to concede in extra time against Rotherham. Give the ‘guy’ a chance!
Also, I’m sure Luzon will bring a target man in on loan next week(s), when the loan window opens again. As I’m not surprised that we didn’t sign a Striker before the deadline. As they are the most expensive Players to sign – and, other Clubs will take advantage of you in January, knowing that you are desperate for a Striker!
We are better off than the bottom 3 Clubs – and, we are only 1 Point away from 12th place! Look at the Table – it’s very tight down there. One win and things will look a lot healthier.
Please, let’s stay united. Otherwise, the Team will continue to slide. They need our support now! Also, please give Luzon a chance! At least we are harder to beat now, which is a positive start (with a solid foundation to build upon)!
*Without Duchatelet, we would be Bankrupt! Let’s be realistic here! Who else will pay our bills & wages at the moment?
The glass is not always half empty!
Let’s look on the bright side, for once, as it’s the easiest thing in the world to be negative & critical of everything!
If we can just get behind our New Manager & the Players now, then I am sure that our luck will change! As turning on the Board, and turning on the Club, at this crucial time of the season, is absolutely crazy & completely suicidal! (Otherwise, if we start turning on each other, our New Manager, and the Board - then, Millwall will just start laughing at us even more than usual)! Thanks, John.

Thank you John,
I don't agree with a lot that you've said, mainly because of the poor network players, rough shod decisions made and the bad PR shown since the takeover. That's all unfortunately done now. However I really think you've got a point and put the case for loyalty very well. I agree with you totally about timing which is really important right now. Spontaneous booing ok, but I think the time when organised feelings of dissatisfaction should and will be expressed is when we decide whether or not to renew our season tickets.

Another negative poster. I wonder with whether all these attacks on Mr Duchatelet could it be he's from another country as I don't recall the former English owner being derided in such a way.

Incidentally I agree with everything John has said 100%, thanks for giving me hope beyond all these xenophobic and hostile fans,

thats right you glass half filled numptys, you keep thinking that while we get relegated to league 1 and as we were told on saturday even if we drop our owner/destroyer will still not fund a way out, your all looking through rose tinted glasses, this club, our club is being destroyed by someone who has no idea on what he's doing and you want to support him doing this,we as a family will not be renewing our season tickets untill he has gone and we hope many others do the same.
by buying a season ticket next year say to me that you all support this way of running a club, well we wont, whats the point, yes we should support the club and the team but the club is a shambles run by fools and the squad is little more than a pub team with unwanted and no good players that our owner and not our manager picks,so its with a heartfelt sadness that i say untill he leaves we wont return and that is horrible thought.

At the beginning of January 2014 we still had Powell, Kermorgant, Stephens, Morrison, Hamer, Dervite and Poyet. Now we have a manager and a load of players that work for the Network and seemingly have no affinity for Charlton. They won't have any loyalty to us and I no longer have any feeling of loyalty to support them.
This owner is turning the supporters away from our club and is destroying it in the process.
I'd rather support Charlton in Division 1 (and have done 3 times before)with a Charlton fan as the owner than support them in the premier league with Duchatelet.

Also, two admistrations didn't do Palace any harm either.

I see xenophobia rears its ugly head again. Was Curbs a Charlton fan, I don't think so but did a great job and neither was Jose Riga but kept the club in the Championship last season. I can't stand these negative, bitter, angry unimaginative posters who spout the usual crap on here but can't support the team and players when they need it most. The poster two above is typical of this warped mentality.

Curbs, may not have been a Charlton Fan (I assume he followed the Hamsters). But he was an ex player, so had an affinity with the club that the fans & his players could relate to.

The sad fact is that the club is bcoming a joke.

So why did so many of these negative fans queue up to complain on talksport and other stations about Curbs' style of football and that he should go, just the same ones as now who are on here criticising the new Manager after just two games which haven't been lost yet. The same moaners and groaners who undermine the players and club every time. I think they're the joke and the sooner they're gone the better.

Thanks for your comments Guys< John and any other Anonymous that have put the counter view, I really appreciate the eloquent writing and that you have put the other side of the case.

I don't think things are rosy at SE7 currently and I am leaning towards the Trust stance, however it does trouble me that no one stood up against Jimminez and Slater, who were definitely worse than this lot.

If anyone would like to put up a new post arguing against the Anti Duchatalet position, I would be more than happy to put it up on here and credit you either by your name or as an anonymous.
